By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 04.00 The Big Bang Theory 04.30 Buck Rogers 06.30 Reaper 07.30 Kyle XY 08.30 Supernatural The Big Bang Theory. Season 2, Episode 9. "The White Asparagus Triangulation" Sheldon tries to 'help' Leonard in his new relationship. Very funny. Sheldon is paired with Penny for several scenes, all hilarious, and spends the rest of the episode annoying Leonard and his new girlfriend. The other two are sidelined a bit, and Leslie is completely left out. Again. I thought she was being added to the cast full time. What gives? Reaper. Season 2, Episode 4. "The Favorite" Sam has to work with another son of The Devil. Kyle XY. Season 3, Episode 6. "Welcome to Latnok" Kyle joins Latnok.   [read the full post]

Rate Opinion: Wed, Mar 18, 09 - Big Bang Theory, The Phil Silvers Show

Original at A Briefing With Michael external link    Fri, Mar 20

By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) Once again, the show take two of the core five characters and pits them against one another in a 'battle'. While it is no longer remarkable that the show is incredibly funny, it is amazing that the show can create hilarity from any aspect of these characters and their lives. I don't mean the plots. I mean the tiny details of every episode. Think about it: the main story is always very funny, the one-liners are always very funny, the things that the characters are talking about are funny, the 'real' lives of the characters are also very funny. So it doesn't matter what direction the show takes from scene to scene. A scene that advances the plot will be funny, a scenes where the characters argue about Star Trek will be funny, a scene where Howard has to dea...   [read the full post]

By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 05.00 The Big Bang Theory 05.30 Reaper 06.30 Kyle XY 07.30 Supernatural The Big Bang Theory. Season 2, Episode 7. "The Panty PiƱata Polarization" Penny and Sheldon go to war, while the other guys try to find the Next Top Model house. Wonderful. Hilarious. Driven by the character traits of Sheldon and Penny. Since Leonard secretly helps Penny in the end, this cleverly keeps the possibility of romance between them going without actually boring us by writing about it. Reaper. Season 2, Episode 2. "Dirty Sexy Mongol" There's a mongol on the loose, and Ben meets a demon... Kyle XY. Season 3, Episode 5. "Life Support" Nicole might die. Supernatural. Season 3, Episode 16. "No Rest for the Wicked" Dean is ripped apart by hell hounds and dragged off to Hell.   [read the full post]

"The Cooper-Nowitzki Theorem" I've often wondered if they would/could give Sheldon a love interest/girlfriend. Even for one episode. Guess what? They found a way to do it. And it's spectacular. Jokes work here that would never work on any other show. Reaper. Season 2, Episode 1. "A New Hope" Sam must capture 40 bad guys at once. Supernatural. Season 3, Episode 15. "Time Is On My Side" Billy Drago guests as killer who has found eternal life. Kyle XY. Season 3, Episode 4. "In the Company of Men" Kyle gets drunk while out on the town.   [read the full post]

Rate Opinion: Tue, Feb 24, 09 - The Big Bang Theory, The Closer, House

By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 07.30 The Big Bang Theory 08.00 The Closer 09.00 House The Big Bang Theory. Season 2, Episode 5. "The Euclid Alternative" Sheldon learns to drive. Amusing example of one of the show's oft-used plots: Sheldon's quirky ways annoy the others. The opening ten minutes are the best: Sheldon forces Penny into giving him a lift to work. Once he sets about learning to drive the humour is more predictable and less specific to these characters and this show. Lots of past sitcoms (Perfect Strangers and Taxi spring to mind) have shown us what happens when quirky characters learn to drive (or navigate the hallways of the DMV). House. Season 5, Episode 15. "Unfaithful" Sick priest. Not me.   [read the full post]

By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 07.00 The Big Bang Theory 08.00 The Closer 09.30 House 12.45 NewsRadio The Big Bang Theory. Season 2, Episode 4. "The Griffin Equivalency" Fame goes to Raj's head. Average episode. Raj and Penny are paired, for once, and the 'comedy' comes from the fact that the normally shy guy turns arrogant and obnoxious. None of it is particularly funny, but there is an amusing moment where Leonard apparently sees Raj leaving Penny's appartment the next morning. The Closer. Season 4, Episode 14. "Fate Line" Text messages on an abandoned phone point to murder. House. Season 4, Episode 14. "The Greater Good" Thirteen is sick. NewsRadio. Season 3, Episode 7. "Daydream" Everyone has daydreams on a hot day.   [read the full post]

By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 03.15 The Big Bang Theory 03.45 The Office The Big Bang Theory. Season 2, Episode 3. "The Barbarian Sublimation" Penny gets addicted to online gaming. The Office" is a show without formula episodes, indeed pretty much every story is about a break from the routine of day-to-day office life, but this installment is even more of a departure than normal. For the second week in a row Michael and Pam are away from the office and, more important, Pam is away from Jim. Don't get me wrong I love them as a couple but the show needs to keep them busy in other plotlines. Pam makes a great partner for Michael and Jenna Fischer is hilarious when Pam has to step up and fill in for Michael after his melt-down.   [read the full post]

By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 06.30 The Big Bang Theory 07.00 CSI 08.00 Greek 09.00 The Closer 10.00 Lie To Me The Big Bang Theory. Season 2, Episode 2. "The Codpiece Topology" Leonard dates Leslie. The wonderful Sara Gilbert makes a return to the show. Now as a regular. Excellent news. Gilbert is a superb talent who has been trapped in sub-par material for far too long. Not any more: Big Bang Theory might well the funniest show on TV right now. Leonard and Penny are no more. No surprise there. The show needs to keep them apart, in order to fuel more suspense. I have no problems with that, now that we all know Penny likes Leonard we can see a future for them and it makes perfect sense to keep them apart for a while longer. Makes sense? Huh, it's practically a TV tradition!   [read the full post]

By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 09.30 The Big Bang Theory 02.00 NewsRadio The Big Bang Theory. Season 2, Episode 1. "The Bad Fish Paradigm" Sheldon tries to keep a secret that Penny has confided in him. Besides, the show isn't about Leonard and Penny as a potential couple. There are many more important things to be enjoyed in this show. Sheldon is probably the single best thing about the show and his interactions with Penny dominate this episode and provide a multitude of laughs. Having Penny confide in Sheldon and having him struggle with keeping a secret was/is inspired writing. Highlight? By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 06.30 The Big Bang Theory 07.00 CSI 08.00 Greek 09.00 The Closer 12.00 NewsRadio The Big Bang Theory. Episode 16. "The Peanut Reaction" The gang plan a surprise party for Leonard (who's never had a birthday party). There are two threads in this one, and both are funny. Penny and Sheldon are paired at an electronics store (while he gift shops). Sheldon paired with anyone is funny, and this is no exception. Meanwhile Wolowitz fakes a reaction to peanuts to get the birthday boy out of the apartment. Solid episode. CSI. Season 6, Episode 7. "A Bullet Runs Through It" Brass and Curtis are part of huge gun battle that Gil and the team must investigate. NewsRadio. Season 3, Episode 5. Despite all evidence to the contrary Nick comes to believe that the family's ten-year-old daughter is still alive. Somewhere... Few episodes are as involving as this one. This particular story manages to create an emotional link between the viewer and the missing family (particularly the young girl that Nick feels a bond with). NewsRadio. Season 3, Episode 4. Which causes problems for Penny, driving her to lash out at her neighbour's crazy hobbies. So Leonard decides to sell everything and grow up. Mission: Impossible. Episode 80. "The Controllers" Part Two finds Jim and the team in lots of trouble: a man they need to make the scam work has just been killed... Greek. Episode 19.
