By J. Caleb Mozzocco “It‘s a physics question…If she‘s falling, say, 100 metres, how fast is she going?”: Here’s a nice Chronicle Journal feature profiling comics fan and physics teacher James Kakalio, author of The Physics of Superheroes. The “she” doing the falling is, of course, Gwen Stacy, just a few sec...

By Travis Thor 603 Sif is safe (say that three times fast), and now Thor has to find a place for her to live on Earth. It results in a little humorous situation, and it is telling that Straczynski is able to weave a tale that focuses on god-like beings, but can still give us some good laughs at the same time.

By noreply@blogger.com (CalvinPitt) This comic has everything I want out of a story starring Beta Ray Bill, except maybe for a little romantic subplot with Sif (I think they're a cute couple), but there's no time for that, even if Sif were around. There are bold pronouncements, massive displays of physical force, imposing ene...

By Travis The second story is a short, simple tale by Stan Lee and David Aja. It’s a predictable story, but still a fun read. Chris Giarrusso gets to do a mini-marvels funny next, and they make fun of Civil War, andit’s good for a couple of laughs. In the back are some reprints of some old Journey Into Myster...

By josh@ifanboy.com One of the oldest tools to evoke realism in comics is to introduce "comics logic" into the real world, and have the characters react accordingly. Thor, I feel, is taking the opposite tact, by introducing "real world logic" to the Marvel Universe's grand and fantastic landscape.

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Loki tells Balder that she welcomes him to their family and their brotherhood. Balder thanks Loki. Loki then asks Thor when will they tell the other Asgardians and celebrate Balder’s heritage and herald the crowing of a new prince of Asgard. Thor agrees and orders the celebrations to begin. We hop back to Asgard where Volstagg is blowing a massive horn and kicking off the celebration. We see Balder watching the celebration from a private balcony. Loki tells Balder that everyone is waiting to see him. Balder replies that he wanted to see Loki first. Balder says that in the past he has always condemned Loki as a liar and a thief. But, Balder is now willing to give Loki the benefit of the doubt. Balder tells Loki to not abuse it. [read the full post]
