SCi Entertainment, parent company of UK publisher Eidos, has revealed that it intends to bring its flagship Tomb Raider franchise to PlayStation 3. Tucked away in the company's end-of-year financial report this past week was a note on its intentions for the Sony next-gen format.

SCi Entertainment, the company behind the iconic Lara Croft Tomb Raider game, said yesterday it expects video games to become a more mainstream entertainment format over the coming years, as more titles emerge that are targeted at younger players and adults.

Buying rival publisher Eidos was apparently a great move for SCi. With growth driven by hits like Tomb Raider Legend and other Eidos IP, SCi reversed its previous losses and is now poised for greater success going forward. (Pictured: Tomb Raider model Karima Adebibe)

SCi Entertainment, parent company of UK publisher Eidos, has posted results revealing sales of GBP 179.1 million (EUR 266.9 million) and a trading profit of GBP 27.4 million (EUR 40.8 million) for the financial year ended June 2006.
