Transformers Spotlight Cliffjumper REVIEW
Original at ComicList
• Sat, Jun 20
By ComicList It’s a perfectly good story except it isn’t convincing that this little Autobot could take out so many Decepticons. Nothing about Cliffjumper looks special and we learn nothing about his skills that tells us he is capable of out dueling anyone. The other problem here is that the Decepticon...

By ComicList 10. Rampaging Wolverine #1 9. Uncanny X-Men #508 8. X-Men Legacy #223 7. Captain America #49 6. Incognito #3 5. GI Joe Cobra #2 4. X-Files #6 3. Green Lantern Corps #35 2. Transformers Maximum Dinobots #5 1. Walking Dead #60 A one shot with four Wolverine stories. You actually get a full forty eight pages of story with no ads which isn’t bad. The only quirk is that the whole issue is black and white. Wolverine doesn’t fight any super villains but its still a good issue to view Wolverine from the more human side. He takes on some land barons, his own memories of Jean, a sniper and then he lives among the animals in the finale. It’s a good issue and is almost worth the four dollar price tag. It’s out of continuity so it really caters towards the completists out there. [read the full post]
Transformers Maximum Dinobots #5 REVIEW

By ComicList The wrap up issue for the series, and possibly the run for writer Simon Furman, is excellent. This issue brings in a few characters for the ending that haven’t been seen in quite some time and again solidifies the core of the Dinobots. The Decepticons prove to be more than capable of freeing themselves from their human captures. It’s a fun and fast issue. I’m not sure what is supposed to happen between this story and the All Hail Megatron arc nor am I sure if Furman is up for more stories, but this arc was excellent. Given that most of the major players had their day in the sun in the Revelations arc and this one really only dealt with some of the stragglers left on Earth it really delivered. This isn’t one of the all time Transformers comics and it isn’t eve... [read the full post]
Transformers Spotlight Drift REVIEW

By ComicList Transformers Spotlight: Drift IDW Comics McCarthy, Coller & Lafuente The set up is real simple. Drift finds a Decepticon ship that has Autobots held captive. He sneaks on to the ship only to find that Kup and his team have already initiated a rescue. The Decepticons find them and a battle breaks out. Drift is caught in the middle as the ship he finds himself on is the very one he served as second in command on when he was a Decepticon. The story has moments where it really needs to convince the reader that the Autobots could and would trust Drift despite his background and it does so very well. Kup plays a good role where if he can be convinced of the new Drift, then the rest of the Autobots would have no choice but to trust him as well. [read the full post]

By ComicList This story is the bridge between Drift finding his new religion and joining the Autobots. It’s a good story about him and makes some good use of Kup. The story really lays out exactly what happened to the Decepticon named Deadlock that became Drift. The story itself has some oddities that I couldn’t quite get past. At one point during the battle, Kup and Drift fall into a hole on the ship and no ever comes looking for them while their friends all escape. Plus, one of the Autobots is left behind, but not killed off by the Decepticons. It could have been a little tighter on the storytelling. The art has some great shades of gray, just like the character. Having read this issue I may consider picking up All Hail Megatron when it’s all done with as Drift appears... [read the full post]
Transformers Maximum Dinobots #4 REVIEW
Original at ComicList
• Fri, Apr 10
By ComicList Transformers Maximum Dinobots #4 IDW Comics Furman, Roche, Raiz & Lafuente The issue takes a bit of a slow turn from here. We get the Dinobots continuously discussing how far they have fallen and where they are all going with each other for what feels like the third issue in a row. It sets up how they decide to react to the whole Headmasters facility, but it just seems like we keep running over the same ground with them. This comic sets up the big finish and you have to wonder exactly how this will all play out. It seems the Dinobots have a death wish, but then again they have a guardian angel about to enter the mix. I can only hope this isn’t the last arc from Furman and these threads because this story has a lot more than one issue left in it. [read the full post]
Transformers Spotlight Jazz REVIEW
Original at ComicList
• Fri, Apr 10
By ComicList This comic was a pleasant surprise. It doesn’t seem to fit in with any current storyline continuity making it truly a one-shot and yet it packs an awful lot into a fairly simple story. This is the type of Transformers comic that anyone can pick up and follow. I would also think if you are even a little bit of a fan, that this is the type of Transformers comic that most would like a lot. An Autobot, Tracks, finds Bumblebee and some of the others at each other’s throats and generally down in the dumps. He then tells a story where he was stranded on a planet and one Autobot that survived a failed rescue attempt manages the impossible. The Autobot that finds him is Jazz and what he accomplishes is both astounding from a morale perspective and a strategic one. It’... [read the full post]

By ComicList 7. Star Wars Legacy #33 6. Hulk #10 The issue is all about the Hulk rounding up teammates for his upcoming battle with red Hulk’s team. Basically, the Grandmaster confronts Hulk and tells him to pick a team so Hulk picks his players, but the Grandmaster picks them out of the time stream wherever they were at their lowest point. As a result the issue has some action and comedy because some of the teammates are pulled from the past before they ever even met the Hulk. It’s a clever little plot device. We don’t know what the purpose of the fight is yet but this is a series that doesn’t try to be too complicated or have too many hidden plot points. It’s got terrific art and an amusing story. You judge if it’s worth your $4 or not. 3. Transformers Maximu Dinobots #3 [read the full post]
GI Joe #2 REVIEW

By ComicList The reboot rolls on as more characters get reintroduced and some new characters get some air time. It’s a good issue that inches the plot forward but keeps its focus on the events seen in the zero issue and last issue. It’s looking like this series is going to be a slow burn, much like Transformers, as opposed to the quick and short arcs with a lot of big explosions. For the most part I enjoyed the issue but it seems that very little happens. The readers get acquainted with some characters and some of the bad guys figure out there are good guys out there and that’s about it. Even Stalker’s mission brings nothing new to the table by the time it ends. It’s a slow burn with some great art. That doesn’t make it a bad comic it just makes it something you need to ease in... Transformers Maximum Dinobots #2 REVIEW
Original at ComicList
• Wed, Jan 14
By ComicList Transformers Maximum Dinobots #2 IDW Comics Furman & Roche The issue begins with Hot Rod captured. Scorponok and the Headmasters have plans for Hot Rod that aren’t really revealed in this issue. However, Scorponok does try to press some of Hot Rod’s buttons by bringing up the fate of Sunstreaker. Oh, and he tortures Hot Rod too for kicks. Other tracks in this issue have Sunstreaker and Hunter racing to the scene, seemingly unaware of what has become of Hot Rod. In fact, I’m not even sure how they seem to know what they know about which Autobots are on Earth. Also, the government and other unknown human entities seem to have plots going on, some with Transformers in their cache. [read the full post]
Transformers Maximum Dinobots #1 REVIEW

By ComicList Transformers Maximum Dinobots #1 IDW Comics Furman & Roche This issue returns to the Earth part of the story that the Revelations arc departed when it focused on the Dead Universe. Some of the Transformers that were left there get some play after too long of a break. This is was an exciting opening issue to a new arc. Some questions about continuity do come up though. I’m not sure how long this arc is and where it will leave off but I’m glad we are revisiting this part of the Transformers story. There are small nagging questions about the continuity though. For example, Hot Rod had a huge role in the Revelations arc, so how did he get to Earth and is he alone? Also, what ever happened to Ironhide, was he cleared off Earth or not in Devastation? By Alex I completely disagree with your assessment of this issue. You may have read every issue so far but I distinctly get the impression you read them as and when they came out in the shops i.e. over the past two to three years. Perhaps if you sat down with Origin of Megatron, Infiltration, Stormbringe...
