November 14, 2008 Travis Barker’s bandmate in (+ 44), bassist and singer Mark Hoppus, spoke with MTV.com about Barker’s continued recovery from the severe burns he suffered in a small plane crash two months ago in Columbia, South Carolina. Asked about Barker backstage at the mtvU Woodie Awards in New York on Wednesday night (November 13th), Hoppus said, “Travis is home healing, so right now we’re just totally on a break, waiting for him to heal up. I’ve been writing a bunch of stuff and getting a lot of songs together. We’ll just have to see what happens over the next few months.” Hoppus said the pair speak often and that Barker is “doing as well as anyone can under such awful circumstances.”

NEW YORK (AP) — Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who always has been afraid of flying, says he's glad to be alive after suffering severe burns in a fiery plane crash last month. If all goes well, Barker expects to leave the hospital within two weeks.
