AS the world's highest paid supermodel, Gisele Bunchen can afford to be picky with her projects – and we hear she's in excited talks with Bono to star in U2's next music video. The supermodel is no stranger to performing for the camera – she recently signed up for a part in the film Angels and Demons, the sequel to The Da Vinci Code, following her acting debut in the 2004 film Taxi - and it seems that appearances in music videos are all part of the modelling DNA; think Linda Evangelista's appearance in George Michael's Freedom, Christie Brinkley as Billy Joel's Uptown Girl, Helena Christensen's sultry show for Chris Isaak's Wicked Game and Kate Moss pole dancing for the White Stripes' I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself. c) Vogue UK, 2007 [read the full post]

By Spun2u Bono? Is that you? Word that Bono was roaming around Boston began circulating Friday after Sfera stopped for breakfast at Donna's. Claiming to be in the area for a function at Fidelity Investments, the Bono bluffer posed for pictures and chatted with the restaurant's owner, Donna Marquardo, about his charitable works in Africa. He was a very sweet and very nice gentleman," Marquardo said afterward. "He was one of the nicest men I've ever met." Bono's friends and associates here were skeptical. Dave Kavanaugh, executive producer of Celtic Woman, the Irish song-and-dance show at the Wang Theatre, said he sent Bono a text message when he heard he might be in town. When his friend didn't immediately reply, Kavanaugh figured the rumor was wrong. [read the full post]
2 planned towers tell of the new Dublin and Ireland
Original at U2Exit.com
• Wed, Mar 7
By Spun2u DUBLIN: On a February evening, with a cold wind funneling off the River Liffey and around the new construction lots of the Grand Canal Basin, shivering rock-music pilgrims from Spain sought out directions for Hanover Quay. They were searching the old Dublin dockyards for the recording studio of the Irish rock band U2. It is also a story about Ireland in the midst of enormous change: In just 12 years, the Irish economy has gone from being the poorest in the European Union to being one of the richest in the world. Captain William Bligh, of "Mutiny on the Bounty" notoriety, played a small part in Dublin dockland history, helping to map the port that was created more than 200 years ago when walls were constructed to keep out the sea. Bono, who has campaigned for debt relief and poverty reduction in Africa and focused attention on AIDS, said he was attracted to Vanity Fair because of its ability to tell stories well. We need to get better at storytelling…. We've got to get better at telling the success stories of Africa in addition to the horror stories," he said. Carter described stories about Africa as a "tough sell," but said he thought the co-branding of Vanity Fair and Bono would appeal to readers. [read the full post]

Meetings in Washington last Thursday between rock star Bono and Democrats, including Senate leader Harry Reid of Nevada, yielded a nice photo-op but not much else, according to Bono. Bono, the U2 frontman and anti-poverty activist, was on Capitol Hill to seek assurances that $1 billion in planned U.S. spending to fight AIDS and malaria in Africa would not be lost if Congress freezes agency budgets in the coming year.
