This mini-series has been an absolute blast to read. I have been impressed with Claremont’s ability to capture that shonen manga feel with this title. I would be thrilled if Marvel decided to make Big Hero 6 an ongoing monthly title. This title would certainly fill a niche that is currently absent from Marvel’s monthly line-up. However, the Marvel comic book that I am most looking forward to reading is Wolverine #69. Despite the scheduling problems with this title, the Old Man Logan story arc has been a gripping tale. of 4 Marvel Comics Aaron, Segovia & Rauch The plot is interesting though. Something is calling Wolverine into the danger and keeping him there. We don’t have the information yet but it certainly is intriguing. Wolverine has a skeleton in his closet that seems to be more about him righting a wrong he himself committed. However, no one wants him around much less try to right the wrong. With Wolverine in so many comics it’s hard to find an interesting or original story. This story had my attention. I’m glad I picked it up. If you like Wolverine getting punished and charging into something where his motives are unclear then this comic is for you.   [read the full post]

Original at Marvel Comics Headlines external link    Sat, Oct 11

The opening of the crossover between X-Men Legacy and Wolverine Origins has an interesting set up. The comic is split between both title’s creative teams into two chapters. The story is seamless in its hand off between teams. The comic deals with reestablishing Wolverine and Xavier’s relationship and bringing Wolverine’s son, Daken, into the picture for those who might not know him. It’s a good story but it doesn’t feel terribly essential for this crossover. The story starts with Wolverine dropping Daken off at the house of one of his friends. Then he heads to see the X-Men. He wants Emma to mind wipe his son’s conditioning. What he finds is that Xavier’s scent is all over Cyclops. Wolverine goes beserk and storms off.   [read the full post]

Wolverine scraps with it for a little while but the sonic boom took out his eardrums and in the process destroyed his balance. He eventually escapes. This comic doesn’t add anything to the Wolverine mythos and it doesn’t add anything to the regular title. However, it’s an interesting story that has its entertainment value and isn’t just another Wolverine gets revenge type story. I liked it and I found the storytelling to be very ironic and meaningful in its own context. I’m glad I picked it up. Xavier decides to bring him to the X-Men and in the process it kicks off some memories of his own introduction into the X-Men. By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Wolverine: First Class #6 was another entertaining issue. Fred Van Lente has done a fantastic job on this title. Van Lente has captured the essence of the old school Wolverine and Kitty Pryde combination that was so much fun to read back on Claremont’s first run on Uncanny X-Men. Van Lente provides for plenty of solid character work and nice dialogue. And this issue had a great balance of action and drama as well as some humor. However, in the end I had to give The Che award for the best read of the week to Wolverine #68. Again, Thom did a great job reviewing this issue and I completely agree with Thom. Loeb definitely has a better feel for Logan’s personality than Daniel Way over in Wolverine: Origins. And honestly, Wolverine’s past was irrelevant. Loeb gives a Wolverine that isn’t too over the top and vanilla in personality like what Way gives us on Wolverine: Origins. Loeb goes with a version of Wolverine much more like how Claremont used to write him. The Bad: Wolverine #52 was just a pedestrian issue. Loeb has failed to hook me on this story arc.
