Wolverine Annual #2 REVIEW
Wolverine finds a town where the residents are missing for the most part. Those that are alive won’t speak. Wolverine then gets attacked by a sonic boom. A huge wolf-like creature appears. Wolverine scraps with it for a little while but the sonic boom took out his eardrums and in the process destroyed his balance. He eventually escapes.
This comic doesn’t add anything to the Wolverine mythos and it doesn’t add anything to the regular title. However, it’s an interesting story that has its e...

Cable #7 REVIEW
Original at Marvel Comics Headlines
• Sat, Oct 4
Cable finds a peaceful spot to live while Bishop is an idiot and gets captured in the present. This issue finally puts an end to the cat and mouse game of Cable running from Bishop and expands the cast of characters to help provide a more interesting story. The art is a better fit here then in the burned out building setting of the first six issues. This issue is a great opening to a new arc. Off in the future we check in with Cable. Cable is married to a woman who looks a lot like the kid! The kid, still nameless, is now about three years old. Cable, appears to be a thinner, more muscular version of Santa Claus now that he sports a beard. Santa on steroids if you will. Cable grapples with his soldier instincts and temper tantrums. The man who traded in his guns for ov... [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Captain America #42 Nova #16 Superman #680 Wolverine: First Class #7 Still, there were some aspects to Captain America #42 that some readers may dislike. I found the direction that Brubaker takes the 1950’s Captain America in to be incredibly unoriginal and boring. Also, the fact that there was no resolution with the Red Skull plotline may irritate some readers. would think that Millar’s Fantastic Four would have mass appeal to the comic book reading populace. Hulk #6 Ultimates 3 #5 Wolverine: Origins #28 Wolverine: Origins #28 was another disappointing read. Way continues to deliver a sub par read on this title. Wolverine: Origins is a fine example of why Marvel should have never given Logan his memories back. [read the full post]

Wolverine Origins #28 Marvel Comics Way, Deodato & Beredo Daken had been trying to kill his father for a long time. Something happened to him and his healing factor was slowed down. Add in a bullet to the brain and he doesn’t remember that he hates Wolverine or that Wolverine is his father. Wolverine wants to take advantage of the situation and get him help. Xavier decides to bring him to the X-Men and in the process it kicks off some memories of his own introduction into the X-Men. The bulk of the issue is spent on his mission to confront the Hulk, which was Wolverine’s first comic appearance. The retelling of this confrontation does add some context to the bigger story of Wolverine’s origin. But again, it’s not essential. [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Synopsis: We begin with Wolverine, Nightwing and Karma beating the crap out of the Hellfire thugs. To be sure we get plenty of cheesy dialogue during this fight that would fit in perfectly in a 1980’s Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. Cyclops reminds Nightcrawler and Wolverine to bring back one of the thugs so they can question him. The last remaining Hellfire gang member left standing predictably pees his pants at the sight of Wolverine and Nightcrawler. (Oh, I have so never seen this in a comic book before. Top notch, Fraction.) Wolverine and Nightcrawler then capture the Hellfire thug. Wolverine attacks Empath. Empath quickly dispatches of Wolverine. Wolverine radios the other X-Men to tell them that Empath is with the Hellfire Club and that he... [read the full post]

All Wolverine is programmed to do is kill and yet he saved Nick. Nick responds that there is only one Captain America and that he died during World War II. Nick says that he is not Captain America. Nick says that it takes a certain type of man to represent an ideal to a nation and a world. Nick says that he is not that kind of man. Nick says that he is the man who ran away. [read the full post]

I found Millar’s first issue of this story arc to be an absolute blast. I love the way that Millar is tapping into Eastwood’s Unforgiven in order to give us an intriguing old man Logan. I expect Wolverine #67 to be a highly entertaining read. Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? That would be Wolverine: Origins #27.
