By noreply@blogger.com (Mart) Good on Gail for having the balls to mention the Stygian hornets, one of the most ridiculed elements of DC's shameful Amazon Attacks mini series. The assertion of Ares that Diana actually serves him rather than the more peaceful gods cuts nicely to the core dichotomy of Wonder Woman, that s...

By noreply@blogger.com (Mart) Anyway, his information seems on the up, as Diana and guest star Dinah Lance - the Black Canary, as Wonder Woman respectfully puts it - are soon off to Tokyo to infiltrate a metahuman fighting ring organised by Psycho, in Sarge Steel's body. Before that, though, we have some of my favourite s...

Er that would be Hera, then - or was it a shortened form of 'In Hera's name!'? Is this the Amazon equivalent of my hated 'the hell?' And why is she calling her poor pal a 'silly woman...

By noreply@blogger.com (Mart) But the notion that Diana would conspire with her mother Hippolyte - recent leader of a murderous Amazon attack on the United States - to deceive a friend and colleague and resupply her with Amazons is, at base, ridiculous. By noreply@blogger.com (Mart) A highlight in Gail Simone's script is the return of Steve Trevor, who gives Sarge-Steel-Really-Dr-Psycho a dressing down. And he even remembers that he's married to Etta Candy who, in a lovely piece of characterisation, Diana urges to 'Be strong. Be Amazon'.

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Wonder Woman comments that the brand is mystical in nature and that there is something ritualistic going on with the three of them. Wonder Woman says that Superman is an outsider who embraces the world around him. Batman is an “insider” from Earth and yet he shuts himself off from the rest of the world. Wonder Woman walks among humanity, but holds herself apart from it. We slide back to the JLA watchtower where Superman asks Batman what he thinks of all of this. Batman glares at Superman and Wonder Woman and curtly states that they should return to the Hall of Justice. That the others are working and so should they. [read the full post]
