By Jim(noreply@blogger.com) Magneto has appeared over Utopia. Professor X asks him what he wants. Magneto does not want to speak to him, he is there to talk to Scott (Cyclops) Summers. As a sign that he is not looking for a fight, Magneto removes his helmet that protects him from psychic attacks. He gives his helmet to Scott. Professor X confronts him that it is a trap. Magneto refuses to fight. He says that Professor X and his time has passed. Professor launches a psychic attack. Magneto holds his ground but does not respond. The professor and Scott have an argument. Scott tells him to stand down. It is very understandable that Professor X would not trust Magneto. They have known each other for years and it always seems like Magneto has opposed him at every turn. No matter how many times he... [read the full post]

Cable #9 REVIEW

• Sat, Dec 6
By ComicList Cable prepares the messiah child to fight, but while in the middle of a battle. Meanwhile, Bishop gets real nasty and shows his ugly side. It’s a good issue with some interesting twists at the end. It’s a comic that does a good job of building up the character of Cable and deconstructing Bishop into a believable villain. Bishop, meanwhile, reveals some of his plan to Cyclops. He picked out some grizzly ways to destroy some continents, but he’s seemed to have saved the best (meaning worst) for North America. Bishop has really left the reservation here. He claims to love the X-Men and yet, he is sure doesn’t show it. Most people that love their friends great them with a hug or a hand shake, but Bishop greets them with a virus. [read the full post]

X-Men Legacy #216 Marvel Comics Carey, Briones & Hanna Emma shows Xavier his first meeting with Beast. This is very much like the Origin issue from a couple of weeks ago and it helps nail down just how manipulative Xavier is and how he likes to jump into other people’s minds without asking but hates it when people do that to him. Emma shows Xavier how badly he twisted up Rogue. This helps to show Xavier has a tough side, especially when he is lying. Some father figure he makes. Next she deals with his treatment of Cyclops. Then Jean and finally Moira. It’s quite a tour and Xavier doesn’t always come out looking too rosy. In fact, someone should have decked the dude despite the wheelchair decades ago. By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Synopsis: We begin with Wolverine, Nightwing and Karma beating the crap out of the Hellfire thugs. To be sure we get plenty of cheesy dialogue during this fight that would fit in perfectly in a 1980’s Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. Cyclops reminds Nightcrawler and Wolverine to bring back one of the thugs so they can question him. The last remaining Hellfire gang member left standing predictably pees his pants at the sight of Wolverine and Nightcrawler. (Oh, I have so never seen this in a comic book before. Top notch, Fraction.) Wolverine and Nightcrawler then capture the Hellfire thug. Wolverine attacks Empath. Empath quickly dispatches of Wolverine. Secret Invasion X-Men #2 of 4 Marvel Comics Carey & Nord Well, the X-Men appear to be able to handle the Skrulls and even the Super Skrulls so what’s left? Well this issue doesn’t exactly show us how the Skrulls are prepared to deal with the X-Men, but there are a couple of interesting plot turns that can probably make this thing interesting. Otherwise I’d say this is a rout. The Skrulls lay out their next step, which is to trap the X-Men into coming to them. Almost on queue we see Cyclops explaining the X-Men’s plan to the mutants. The big obstacle with the pending battle is that the Skrulls are blocking telepaths. [read the full post]

By cslepage X-Men Legacy #208 Marvel Comics Carey, Eaton & Romita Xavier was shot in the head at the conclusion of the Messiah Complex. Apparently, he was abducted in the fray. This has some continuity problems. For one, didn’t everyone mention how Beast was with him or tending to him? Also, in both X-Force and Wolverine, Cyclops dispatches Wolverine to take care of way lesser important matters than finding Xavier. Plus, in Uncanny X-Men there isn’t any mention of the missing Xavier while Cyclops and Emma vacation. I am guessing more will be revealed on this front, but I admit it baffled me a bit. 5 out of 5 geek goggles. X-Men Legacy #208 [read the full post]

By Rokk Krinn Spinning out from the dramatic ending of Messiah Complex comes the newest incarnation of X-Force. And I actually like the purpose of this X-Force more than the preceding versions of this team. Due to the events of Messiah Complex, Cyclops has seen the need for a black ops team like X-Force to pull off the dirty missions that the X-Men cannot be connected with or handle at all. If nothing else, X-Force should supply us with tons of action and a relatively fast paced story. Let’s go ahead and do this review for X-Force #1.
