By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) X-Factor #37 X-Factor #37 Writer: Peter David Well, David appears to have gotten X-Factor back on track. With the Secret Invasion storyline over it looks like David is going to try and pick up the pieces from Messiah Complex and continue to make X-Factor a quality read. X-Factor #37 was certainly a step in the right direction. David treats the reader to plenty of well crafted dialogue. The character work on X-Factor continues to be some of the best that you will see in a Marvel comic book. David clearly loves and understands the various members of X-Factor. The chemistry on X-Factor is fantastic and is certainly better than what you get on your typical comic book. Uncanny X-Men #504 The Winner: Uncanny X-Men #504 [read the full post]

This big event is overstayed its welcome and I am just weary of this story. It has taken too long and has delivered way too small of a pay-off. However, the Marvel comic book that I am least looking forward to reading is New Avengers #46. The Secret tie-in issues on Mighty Avengers and New Avengers have become practically unreadable as it is patently obvious that Bendis is just killing time until Secret Invasion concludes. But, the good thing is that unlike many of the Secret Invasion tie-in issues, Guardians of the Galaxy #6 was actually entertaining. DnA treat the reader to equal amounts of kick-ass action and quality character work. Guardians of the Galaxy continues to be a balanced comic book. DnA continue to be absolute money on this title. And DnA are treating the reader to one of the better Secret Invasion tie-in stories on the market. I have little interest in Mighty Avengers #19. This looks to be yet another boring flashback Secret Invasion tie-in issue. With Secret Invasion lumbering on with little direction or purpose, the various tie-in issues on New Avengers and Mighty Avengers are rapidly dropping in terms of quality. I see no reason for that trend to reverse itself with Mighty Avengers #19. [read the full post]

Secret Invasion X-Men #2 of 4 Marvel Comics Carey & Nord Well, the X-Men appear to be able to handle the Skrulls and even the Super Skrulls so what’s left? Well this issue doesn’t exactly show us how the Skrulls are prepared to deal with the X-Men, but there are a couple of interesting plot turns that can probably make this thing interesting. Otherwise I’d say this is a rout. The Skrulls lay out their next step, which is to trap the X-Men into coming to them. Almost on queue we see Cyclops explaining the X-Men’s plan to the mutants. The big obstacle with the pending battle is that the Skrulls are blocking telepaths. [read the full post]

It’s an odd entry into the war, but I guess it works. The artwork has an interesting look to it, but also works.
